Following the Governor's mandate and CDC guidelines, the Jefferson County Clerk's Office will begin to accept in-person transactions at all motor vehicle branch locations at 50% capacity beginning Monday, June 29th (with the exception of the West Branch, who will continue to be by appointment only). However, we encourage all motor vehicle renewals to continue to be processed online, by mail, telephone or drop-box service. You will be required to wear a face mask and social distance when visiting our office. The following resources can help assist any Jefferson County resident while eliminating an in-person visit to our office. MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSACTIONS: All vehicle tax payments and registrations renewals can continue to be processed online, by telephone, mail or drop-box service. All other motor vehicle transactions such as vehicle transfers (both in-state and out-of-state), duplicate title requests, disabled parking placards, boat & trailer transactions, etc., can now be processed in-person at all branch locations, with the exception of the West Branch, which will be by appointment only. Appointments can be made at the West Branch by calling 502-574-5700 . Residents can renew online at drive.ky.gov . Mail-in renewals can be sent to P.O. Box 33033, Louisville, KY 40232-3033. To renew by telephone call 502.569.3300. Drop boxes are also available Mon-Fri from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at all our motor vehicle branches if the appropriate documentation has been completed.
